TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) women's fastball student-athletes of
the week for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 25.
TOP PITCHER: Amanda Boismier, Seneca
Amanda Boismier struck out 15 batters to help
provide Seneca a season opening 4-1 win over Mohawk on Saturday.
Boismier allowed one run on three hits in seven innings of work,
walking five. Boismier's 15 strikeouts were two short of an OCAA
single game record. With a doubleheader sweep of Mohawk, Seneca
jumped out to a 2-0 record to begin its season.
TOP BATTER: Caitlyn Stiles, St. Clair
Caitlyn Stiles scored in all four of St. Clair's
home games this past weekend. St. Clair outscored the opposition
30-10 en route to doubleheader sweeps of Humber and Conestoga.
Twenty-seven percent of St. Clair's runs were a direct result of
Stiles' contributions. Overall Stiles was 5-for-12 with seven runs
and one RBI. St. Clair currently leads the OCAA standings with a
4-0 record.
