TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) women's fastball student-athletes of
the week for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 9.
TOP PITCHER: Jessica O'Quinn,
Humber
Named OCAA batter of the week on Oct. 4, Jessica
O'Quinn earns top pitching honours after
toeing the rubber in both games of a doubleheader sweep of
Conestoga on Oct. 5. O'Quinn pitched 11 innings in total, allowing
four earned runs on 13 hits and four walks while striking out six.
Humber won 6-5 and 7-2 to improve to 4-4 on the season, moving it
closer to automatic entry into the OCAA championship
tournament.
TOP BATTER: Jessica Pike, Durham
Jessica Pike was a key component in Durham's
doubleheader sweep of Seneca on Oct. 4. Overall Pike went 3-for-6
at the plate, driving in three runs while scoring two times. Durham
defeated Seneca 11-1 and 6-0 to improve to 6-0 on the season. The
defending OCAA champions have played all their games on the road so
far this season, but that changes Thursday when Durham hosts Mohawk
in a doubleheader.
