TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) women's fastball student-athletes of
the week for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 16.
TOP PITCHER: Maryann Tumanquil, Seneca
Maryann Tumanquil pitched her Seneca teammates
into the OCAA championship tournament with an impressive 11-1 win
over Conestoga on Oct. 16. Tumanquil allowed one unearned run on
three hits and one walk while striking out six. Tumanquil pitched
in three games in the span of two days, earning two wins and
striking out a total of 11 batters. Seneca (6-4) will be the third
seed at the OCAA championship.
TOP BATTER: Shelby Robblee, Humber
Shelby Robblee had six hits in a doubleheader
split against Seneca on Oct. 15. Robblee went 3-for-4 for three RBI
in a 10-5 loss before going 3-for-3, scoring two runs and
contributing four RBI in a 12-6 win. Robblee ended the regular
season as the team leader in RBI with 12 and a .481 batting
average. Her 13 hits were one shy of the team lead. Humber (5-5)
hosts Conestoga (1-9) in an OCAA qualifying game on Tuesday.
