ST. CLAIR 2, HUMBER 1

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's fastball team earned a pair of wins on opening day over Humber College at the campus diamond earlier this afternoon and moved their OCAA leading record to 6-0 on the season.

St. Clair (5-0) defeated Humber (4-1) by a score of 3-0.

Alexa Georgiou pitched to a complete game shut-out for the Saints spreading out five hits while striking out 10 batters and allowed no walks. St. Clair was led offensively by catcher Amelia Maniuk who was 3-for-4 at the plate while first baseman Skylar Patteson added two hits and an RBI.

St. Clair (6-0) defeated Humber (4-2) by a score of 2-1.

The Saints trailed 1-0 in the seventh inning before scoring the tying and go ahead runs in their final at bat.  Allison Telfer had a key hit to score Georgiou to tie the game and then Patteson scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly by Kallie Desjarlais. Telfer took the win on the mound for St. Clair only surrendering three hits over seven innings of work and only one unearned run.

The St. Clair women's fastball team continues their OCAA regular season with three games next weekend at the campus diamond. They welcome Durham (Oshawa) on Saturday for a single game at 12 p.m. and then a pair of games against Seneca (North York) on Sunday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
