ST. CLAIR 12, CONESTOGA 4

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's fastball team clinched the OCAA regular season pennant with a sweep of Conestoga in a doubleheader at Mic Mac Park Tuesday night moving their record to 13-1 on the season.

St. Clair (12-1) defeated Conestoga (6-7) by a score of 3-1.

Alexa Georgiou pitched to complete game four-hitter for the Saints allowing four hits while striking out nine batters but allowed no walks. Georgiou helped her cause at the plate with a two-run homerun in the first inning.

Right fielder Jordan Beauchesne had two hits and scored a run to help the Saints in the victory.

St. Clair (13-1) defeated Conestoga (6-8) by a score of 12-4.

The Saints smashed 18 hits in this game getting three hits apiece from catcher Amelia Maniuk and shortstop Rian Desbiens.

Georgiou pitched another complete game for St. Clair after her team fell behind 4-0 in the top of the first inning. Georgiou surrendered two hits the remainder of the game striking out seven batters on the way to her league-leading 11th win of the season. Skylar Patteson struck the decisive blow in the fifth inning with a grand slam to center field on her way to a six RBI night.
 
The St. Clair women's fastball team completes their OCAA regular season with a game Thursday at Mic Mac Park against Mohawk College (Hamilton) starting at 7 p.m.

The Saints will also spend Thanksgiving weekend in London as they have received an invitation to the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association National Championships hosted by the University of Western Ontario.
