HUMBER 12, MOHAWK 2

ETOBICOKE, Ont. - The Mohawk women's softball team had their hands full in Etobicoke, Ont., on Tuesday, dropping a pair of OCAA decisions to Humber. The Mountaineers saw their record fall to 0-4, with their 15-3 and 12-2 defeats by the Hawks.

In the opening game, Sherrice Doxtator went 2-for-3 at the plate for Mohawk. Danielle Watson had a triple and drove in two Mountaineer runs. Watson, a third-year infielder, also caught most of the first game and all of the second because of an injury.

Becky Rabchuck, a fourth-year infielder, was used in relief in the first game and pitched the entire second game. Of the six innings she threw, she managed to keep the Hawks scoreless for three of those frames.

Rookie Riley Wasilik had a triple and drove in one of the visitor's runs.

Despite the results, Mountaineers head coach Brian Weller said his team is playing better than they did in the first two games of the season.

Mohawk will play host to Conestoga on Thursday at Mohawk Sports Park. The first pitch will be at 5:30 p.m.
