ST. CLAIR 8, DURHAM 6

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's softball team finished off a great home weekend Sunday at the campus diamond with a doubleheader sweep of Durham College.

The Saints pulled one out of the fire in the opening game with a dramatic comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning. Trailing 3-0, St. Clair scored four runs in walk-off fashion after Skyler Patteson (Guelph, Ont.) drove in Sarah Bondy (Amherstburg, Ont.) with an RBI single up the middle. Bondy and Jenna Pierce (London, Ont.) each had key doubles earlier in the inning to set up the Patteson's final hit.

In game two St. Clair jumped ahead early and led 8-2 after four innings before letting Durham draw within two runs in the sixth inning. Alexa Georgiou (Windsor, Ont.) who picked up the win in game one came back to pitch the final two innings to shut the door.

The Saints continue their OCAA schedule when they host new league member Fanshawe College (London, Ont.) on Tuesday at Mic Mac Park in a doubleheader with game times at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
