DURHAM 10, MOHAWK 0

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College women's softball team made quick work of the Mohawk Mountaineers on Wednesday night as the Lords walked away with a 10-0 victory in five innings.

Walks and errors proved to be Mohawk's Achilles' heel as they allowed eight walks and committed three errors leading to the 10-run outburst for Durham. Things did not start out well for Mohawk as the first four Lords batters were walked and eventually scored to give Durham a commanding lead they would never relinquish.

Durham's pitching was impressive as they held Mohawk to just three hits and one walk. Danielle Crosby (Whitby, Ont.) earned her first win, pitching four innings and striking out three. Katie Jackson (Navan, Ont.) made her pitching debut and allowed one walk in a scoreless fifth inning.

Katrina Gammie (Guelph, Ont.), who is hitting .500 this season, continued to bat at that pace as she went 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Durham is 6-3 on the year and has won four of their last five games. The Lords will have a pair of single games at home this weekend as they host Fanshawe (Saturday) and St. Clair (Sunday).
