Crouse continued to be an effective weapon for Durham on the mound, earning his league-leading fourth win of the season in a 5-0 shutout victory over second-place St. Clair on Sept. 29. The second-year player delivered in a complete seven inning performance, allowing just five hits and zero earned runs. He struck out three batters while only walking one versus one of the best offensive teams in the province. The win marked Crouse's second complete game victory of the season, another category he currently shares the league lead in.

Nichole Erb
School: Fanshawe
Program: Early Childhood Leadership
Year of Eligibility: 2
Sport: Women's Softball
Hometown: Monkton, Ont.
Erb was a significant part of Fanshawe's four wins this weekend. In a doubleheader against Mohawk on Sept. 28, Erb went 5-for-8 at the plate, with five runs and five RBIs. In the Game 2, Erb pitched a complete game in an 11-3 win and set a new Fanshawe record for most strikeouts in a game with 12. The next day, she followed this performance with eight strikeouts in Fanshawe's 9-1 win over Seneca. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate, with one run and three RBIs, including a home run. Erb now has an 11-game hitting streak entering the home stretch.

Cassey Leader
School: Conestoga
Program: Early Childhood Education
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Women's Softball
Hometown: Kitchener, Ont.
With six games under her belt this past week, Leader was an offensive force for Conestoga with a batting average of .500. She scored seven times, belted two triples and a home run, and drove in six RBIs. In addition, Leader made some key plays on defence. Overall, the third-year shortstop is third among OCAA players with a .464 batting average. Her contributions this week have kept the Condors in the playoff hunt. Conestoga (8-8) currently trail Fanshawe (10-8) for the final post-season spot, with these teams meeting in a doubleheader on Friday.

Sona Makulova
School: Seneca
Program: Police Foundations
Year of Eligibility: 2
Sport: Women's Soccer
Hometown: Czech Republic
The reigning OCAA Rookie of the Year helped lead Seneca to a pair of victories on the weekend. Makulova scored thrice against Sault in a 9-0 win on Sept. 28, and followed this effort with a goal the following day against Cambrian in a 7-0 victory. The second-year player now has three career hat tricks. Makulova currently sits second among OCAA players in goals with seven to her credit. The Sting have won five straight to open their season, while their next opponent Algonquin has won six straight. East Division bragging rights are on the line this Friday under the lights of Algonquin.

Massimo Pollard
School: St. Clair
Program: Business Administration - Accounting
Year of Eligibility: 1
Sport: Men's Soccer
Hometown: Windsor, Ont.
Pollard scored a pair of goals, set up two others, and drew the foul that led to a fifth goal on a free kick in St. Clair's 5-0 win over Mohawk in rainy and windy conditions on Sept. 27. It marked the first career multi-goal game for the first-year midfielder, raising his season total to three goals. More importantly for Pollard, he helped lift St. Clair to a 4-2 record in what is a highly competitive West Division. With half the division already at four wins or more, St. Clair is in good position to grab a post-season berth, with a key meeting with Conestoga set for Saturday.

Filipe Vilela
School: George Brown
Program: Electrical Construction and Maintenance
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Men's Soccer
Hometown: Toronto, Ont.
Vilela, the reigning OCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Year, scored eight goals in two matches to lift George Brown to its first two victories of the regular season. Vilela scored five goals against Cambrian on Sept. 28 in an 8-1 victory, which tied him for the most goals scored in a single OCAA match this season. The following day, Vilela netted a hat trick in an 8-1 win over Sault. Vilela's eight goal outburst lifts him into contention for another OCAA scoring championship, a title he has claimed the past two seasons. He is within one goal from a third straight season of 10 goals or more.
