CCAA READY FOR MARCH MAYHEM

The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) today announced a revamped National Championship schedule for the month of March.

In order to allow member conferences additional time to complete their regular seasons and conference championships, five CCAA Championships will be pushed back.

The 2022 CCAA Badminton National Championships will now be held March 17-19 at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in Edmonton, AB.

That sets up a wild last weekend at the end of the month – with four CCAA Championships being held simultaneously from March 25-27.

The 2022 CCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship will be hosted by Cégep Limoilou in Quebec City, while the 2022 CCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship will be hosted by Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI.

Meanwhile, the 2022 CCAA Men's Basketball National Championship will be hosted by Humber College in Etobicoke, ON, and the 2022 CCAA Women's Basketball National Championship will be hosted by Vancouver Island University (VIU) in Nanaimo, BC.

"The CCAA is thrilled for our student-athletes, who will once again get the opportunity to compete on the national stage," said Vince Amato, CCAA President. "We are extremely grateful for our resilient and dedicated hosts, who are committed to enriching the academic experiences of our student-athletes."

Last week, Curling Canada was forced to cancel the 2022 CCAA/Curling Canada Championships, which were to be held in Sudbury, ON.

In the fall, successful CCAA Championships were conducted in Golf (at St. Clair College in Windsor, ON), Men's Soccer (at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, AB), Women's Soccer (at Humber College in Etobicoke, ON) and Cross-Country Running (at St. Mary's University in Calgary, AB).
