OCAA STARS OF THE WEEK

TORONTO - The following student-athletes have been recognized by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) for their accomplishments during the seven-day period ending Sunday, Feb. 26.

All OCAA Stars of the Week will receive an acrylic bag tag courtesy of Nothers, the Preferred Awards Supplier of the OCAA.

Brittney English
School: Humber
Program: Carpentry & Renovation
Year of Eligibility: 5
Sport: Women's Basketball
Hometown: Toronto, Ont.
English was named a Championship All-Star after helping lead the Humber Hawks to back-to-back OCAA gold medals. The fifth-year guard recorded a double-double in a wild championship finale as Humber outlasted Lambton 66-62 in overtime. English scored a game-high 20 points while grabbing 10 rebounds, while also contributing three steals and two assists. In three games at the championship English totalled a combined 28 rebounds and a dozen steals. Humber advances to next week's nationals being hosted by Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ont.

Robert Ocampo
School: George Brown
Program: Sport & Event Marketing
Year of Eligibility: 5
Sport: Men's Basketball
Hometown: Toronto, Ont.
Ocampo was named a Championship All-Star after helping lead the George Brown Huskies to a berth at the national championship. In three games at the OCAA provincials the fifth-year guard scored 42 total points, grabbed 10 rebounds, recorded five steals and added four assists as George Brown went 2-1 at the competition, falling in the gold medal game 106-77 to host St. Clair. Ocampo was named Player of the Game in a losing effort scoring a team-high 20 points. Ocampo was named an East Division First-Team All-Star prior to the competition.

Breanna Pretty
School: Lambton
Program: Business Administration
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Women's Basketball
Hometown: Sarnia, Ont.
Pretty was named a Championship All-Star as the Lambton Lions won their first-ever OCAA medal in Division I women's basketball. Pretty totalled 39 points in three games at the competition, adding 26 rebounds, eight assists, five steals and five blocks. The third-year player recorded a double-double in the semifinals with 16 points and 10 rebounds leading the Lions to a 53-38 win over Algonquin to clinch Lambton's elusive medal, an eventual silver. Pretty was named Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Star in the West Division prior to the championship.

Shak Pryce
School: St. Clair
Program: General Arts & Science
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Men's Basketball
Hometown: Pickering, Ont.
Pryce was named Championship MVP helping lead the St. Clair Saints to their first OCAA men's basketball championship in 55 years. Pryce scored 49 points in three games, while also contributing 28 rebounds, 28 assists and a pair of steals. The All-Canadian guard earned two double-doubles but flirted with a triple-double in each game, all St. Clair victories. Pryce scored a dozen points and recorded 11 assists in a 106-77 victory over George Brown in the gold medal game. St. Clair has now won 12 straight regular and post-season games heading into nationals.

Kia Watt
School: Humber
Program: Criminal Justice
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Women's Basketball
Hometown: Toronto, Ont.
Watt was named Championship MVP helping lead the Humber Hawks to back-to-back OCAA women's basketball titles. The third-year shooting guard scored 50 points in three games while grabbing 27 rebounds. Watt recorded a pair of double-doubles in both the quarter-finals and gold medal game. The All-Canadian led all players with five points in five minutes of overtime as Humber outlasted Lambton 66-62 in the championship finale. Watt and the Hawks now take the short trip to Hamilton, Ont., for the national championship tournament hosted by Mohawk College.

Terence Williams
School: St. Clair
Program: Business
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Men's Basketball
Hometown: Windsor, Ont.
Williams was named a Championship All-Star after helping lead the St. Clair Saints to their first OCAA men's basketball gold medal since 1968. The third-year guard scored 43 points in three games at the competition on 17-of-30 shooting (57 per cent). This offensive output came after being named the West Division Defensive Player of the Year during the regular season. In St. Clair's 106-77 win over George Brown in the gold medal game, Williams stat line included 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting (64 per cent), eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
