OCAA SELECTS 2024-25 CHAMPIONSHIP HOSTS

TORONTO - The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) has selected its host schools for its 2024-25 championships.

OCAA members went through a bid process for hosting OCAA championships which received final approval at the OCAA annual meeting in The Blue Mountains, Ont., earlier this month.

GOLF

Georgian College (Barrie) hosts the 2024 OCAA Golf Championships at the Barrie Country Club from Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

The course has been welcoming families and golf enthusiasts for over 100 years. A traditional style course, with its rolling fairways and beautifully manicured greens, provides a first-class golfing experience for golfers of all levels.

Georgian last hosted the OCAA golf championships in 2016.

WOMEN'S SOFTBALL

Durham College (Oshawa) hosts the 2024 OCAA Women's Softball Championship from Oct. 17-19.

Babcock Field is located on the south end of Durham College's Oshawa campus and is home to the 20-time OCAA champion women's softball program.

The facility has been recently renovated to an artificial turf surface, with additions of new stadium lighting, batting cages, a digital scoreboard, fan seating including an elevator lift and a media box.

MEN'S BASEBALL

Lambton College (Sarnia) hosts the 2024 OCAA Men's Baseball Championship from Oct. 17-19.

Stan Slack Field at Errol Russell Park features a beautifully maintained playing surface with a grass infield, spacious foul grounds along both baselines, spacious covered dugouts and new covered grandstands with accessibility ramps and seating.

The Lambton Lions have steadily improved every season since joining the OCAA in 2019, and will make its championship debut as host.

WOMEN'S RUGBY SEVENS

Loyalist College (Belleville) hosts the 2024 OCAA Women's Rugby Sevens Championship on Oct. 26.

Loyalist has hosted three of the last four OCAA women's rugby sevens provincials to great success. The Loyalist Lancers earned the OCAA bronze medal on their home field last October.

Games will be on a beautiful grass field on campus that is fully maintained and surrounded by lights, uprights, and covered benches for teams. The south side of the field features full-sized bleachers for spectators.

CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING

Seneca Polytechnic (King City) hosts the 2024 OCAA Cross Country Championships on Oct. 26.

The women's six kilometre and men's eight kilometre races will take place at a familiar setting on Seneca's King Campus.

Seneca traditionally hosts a yearly invitational race on the same circuit, and last hosted provincials in 2016. It also played host to nationals in 2018.

CURLING

Mohawk College (Hamilton) hosts the 2025 OCAA Curling Championships from Feb. 6-8.

Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club is proud to be the host club for the 2025 OCAA championships. The club is a state-of-the-art curling facility offering five sheets of pristine ice.

Mohawk last hosted the OCAA championships in 2019.

BADMINTON

Conestoga College (Kitchener) hosts the 2025 OCAA Badminton Championships in February at the Student Recreation Centre on Doon Campus.

Conestoga last hosted the OCAA championships in 2020 and played host to west regionals this past February.

An extended championship format for badminton is currently being discussed with official dates of the competition to be announced later this month.

INDOOR SOCCER

Centennial College (Scarborough) hosts the 2025 OCAA Indoor Soccer Championships from Mar. 6-7.

The Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre (formerly Ontario Soccer Centre) in Vaughan, Ont., has become the home to OCAA indoor soccer regionals and provincials. The centre features a 130,000 square-foot field house which includes a full-sized Astro Turf GT indoor turf field installed in June 2015 and FIFA 2 Star certified.

Dates and seeding for OCAA regionals will be announced later this month.

REMAINING OCAA LEAGUE SPORTS

The OCAA introduced a new format for outdoor soccer, volleyball and basketball last season where the top seeded teams among the remaining semi-finalists plays host to its respective championship.

The event (semi-finals, bronze and gold medal games) will take place over back-to-back days within a three day period (listed below).

If two teams occupy the same seed in their respective division standings (for example, No. 1 East and No. 1 West), the host will be determined by a predetermined grid which alternates yearly (listed below).

For men's rugby, semi-finals and medal matches will be held on separate weekends, with the top seed hosting the semi-final and medal matches (predetermined grid for seeding ties listed below).
