GEORGIAN WOMEN'S INDOOR SOCCER EARNS BERTH TO CHAMPIONSHIP

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies women's indoor soccer team had a big day on Thursday at the OCAA regionals in Ancaster, Ont., with a trip to the provincials on the line.

A good start was the key to the Grizzlies success and they found that in their opening game against the Durham Lords. Briahna Williams (Barrie, Ont.) had the lone goal in the match to give the Grizzlies a 1-0 victory.

In their second match the Grizzlies earned a valuable tie with the Redeemer Royals in a 1-1 game with Stephanie Harris (Bradford, Ont.) scoring for Georgian. The Grizzlies wrapped up the tournament with a 1-0 loss to the Seneca Sting.

Despite the loss the Grizzlies 1-1-1 record was good enough to earn them a berth to the OCAA championship as they finished second in their pool.

The 2015 OCAA Indoor Soccer Championships takes place March 20-21 hosted by Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ont.
