HUMBER WINS OCAA MEN'S INDOOR SOCCER TITLE

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Humber Hawks have returned to the top of the podium in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) men's indoor soccer.

Humber edged Centennial 1-0 in the gold medal match to win its first goal medal in three seasons, and 13th championship overall.

The Hawks won all five game they competed in, going 3-0 in the round robin before defeating Sheridan 2-0 in the semi-finals. Humber outscored the competition 15-3 for the tournament.

Humber third-year forward Mike Aigbokie (Mississauga, Ont.) was named championship MVP, and teammates Kingsley Boasiako (Brampton, Ont.) and Jordan Piccinin (Brampton, Ont.) were named championship all-stars.

Centennial's silver medal was its best finish in men's indoor soccer since 1999, when the Colts also lost to Humber in the gold medal match. Centennial was awarded bronze last year. The Colts were the only team in their round robin pool to win a game, going 1-0-2.

The Colts needed penalty kicks in the semi-final to get past George Brown 2-1. Peter Katsaras (East York, Ont.) was named the top goalkeeper of the championship, and Centennial teammate Tyler Dill (North York, Ont.) was named a championship all-star.

George Brown went on to defeat Sheridan 2-1 in overtime to win the bronze medal, its first OCAA medal since the Huskies won bronze in 2009. George Brown midfielder Lyndon Vase (Toronto) was named a championship all-star.

The OCAA Men's and Women's Indoor Soccer Championships was hosted by Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ont.
