MOHAWK 98, LAMBTON 77

After both teams were beaten by Fanshawe on Friday, Mohawk's men's and women's basketball squads returned to winning ways Saturday (Nov. 17) against Lambton.

The Mountaineer men whipped the Lions 98-77 at the Fennell Gymnasium. Andrew Cicuttini scored 33 points, while Taylor Dowhaniuk had 28 and Manny Campbell hooped 13 for the winners. Shawn Hill led Lambton with 32. Mohawk led 55-47 at halftime.

The Mountaineers improved to 5-1 and Lambton fell to 1-4.

The Mohawk women beat Lambton 60-51. Careena Browne scored 20 points for the Mountaineers. Daniella Randazzo had 13 points and Lacey Walters added 10. Courtney Lundy scored 12 points while Melanie Bouchard added 11 for the visitors from Sarnia.

Mohawk, which led 30-23 at the half, squared its record at 3-3, while Lambton dropped to 2-3.
