ST. LAWRENCE 78, FLEMING 56

KINGSTON, Ont. - The 3-3 St. Lawrence College men's basketball team entered their game against the 1-5 Fleming College Knights on Wednesday night coming off of a tough loss on the weekend to Centennial College.

From the start, both teams battled to set the tempo of the game early resulting in loose defence, turnovers, and quick breaks. St. Lawrence would jump out to the early lead after the first, but then tightened up on defence to limit the Knights to only eight points in the second quarter, resulting in a 21-point lead at the half with the score 42-21.

It was a balanced team effort in the first half Nate McIntosh, Terence Thomas leading the team with eight points, and Des Adams with three rebounds.

In the third quarter, St Lawrence stuck to their game plan and exchanged even points with Fleming resulting in an 18-15 quarter. In the fourth Fleming pressed offensively, but the Vikings switched to a full court press defence which limited the Knights chances. St. Lawrence would not give up the lead in the second half and went on to win by 22 points, 78-56.

Thomas had another great game for the Vikings, leading the team with 20 points. Nate McIntosh added 12 points, and Tigh Chapman had five rebounds for the night.

The Vikings are now 4-3 and remain in the middle of the pack of the OCAA East Division. Their next game takes place this Friday, November 23 in a home exhibition game against Rochester Institute of Technology at 7 p.m. The next regular season game is Friday, November 30 at 8 p.m. against the 4-1 George Brown Huskies.
