DURHAM 69, FLEMING 64

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – After suffering a heart-breaking loss to Seneca two nights earlier, the Durham College men's basketball team bounced back with a 69-64 road win over the Fleming Knights.

Freshman Mamadou Sakho-Mutombo had a breakout game for the Lords scoring a career-high 33 points in the win. He was close to recording a triple-double as he hauled in 11 rebounds and had seven steals. The 6-foot-3 guard from Pickering played over 38 minutes, going 12-of-21 from the field and draining nine of 14 free throws. He was clutch down the stretch for Durham scoring 12 points in the fourth quarter.

OCAA leading scoring Anthony Ottley also had a double-double for the Lords as he scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds. Ottley is averaging 26.3 points per game this season.

Kevin Skullie was the Knights leading scorer with 26 points in a losing effort.

Turnovers were the key to victory for Durham as they forced 26 on the night. Fleming would end up winning the rebound battle 63-42.

After starting the season 0-4, the Lords have won three of their last five games and are within striking distance of a playoff position.

The Lords will close out 2012 on the road against the Centennial Colts (7-1). Game time in Scarborough is 8 p.m.
