GEORGIAN 68, DURHAM 51

Firing out of the gate early was an understatement for the Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team Wednesday night when they hosted the Durham Lords at the Georgian College Athletic Centre.

The Grizzlies responded to a near capacity crowd at home to jump out early and control the play against their East Division rivals.

Georgian held the lead from beginning to end sinking over 51 percent of their field goals in the first half compared to the Lords who only shot 24 percent.

The Grizzlies held a 40-20 halftime lead and put together a solid second half to hold on for a 68-51 win.

Stefan Rudic (17 points), Ben Dance (16 points) and Jevon Francis (10 points) all had solid outings as the Grizzlies earned their second win of the season.

Christoff Pierre had 15 poinots while Zac Vasspori had 12 points to lead the Lords in scoring.

The Grizzlies will welcome the second place Centennial Colts to the Georgian Athletic Centre Friday night at 8 p.m. Join the Grizzlies for alumni night, there will be great prizes to be won and there is no admission for any Georgian College alumni.
