SUDBURY, Ont. – Adrian Burton of the Durham College men's basketball team scored a career high 21 points in a 59-40 victory over the Cambrian Golden Shield on Saturday.
Burton, a freshman out of Oshawa, had his first career double-double scoring 21 points and adding 10 rebounds. Burton's previous high of 14 points came back in November against the Golden Shield.
The Lords trailed 15-8 after one quarter, but went on a scoring spree over the next ten minutes to take a 31-25 halftime lead.
Durham turned to defence in the second half, holding Cambrian to just 15 points and to cruise to the double-digit victory.
Lords captain Christoff Pierre was just shy of a triple-double recording nine points, eight rebounds and eight steals while Zac Vaspori drained 13 points.
Ali Sadaat dominated the boards with 12 rebounds in the win.
Durham is 4-10 this season with six games remaining in the regular season. They will head to Seneca next Tuesday night for a match-up against the nationally ranked Sting. The last time the two teams met, Seneca narrowly defeated Durham 93-90.
