ST. CLAIR 72, SAULT 62

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair men's basketball team was able to get a quick start and hold off Sault College for a 72-62 victory Sunday afternoon at the campus gym.

Leading 39-26 at halftime the Saints allowed Sault to close the gap in the third quarter and early in the fourth the lead was only at 62-56 for the home team.

St. Clair was able to maintain control enough to outlast Sault with superior outside shooting that amounted to 10 three-point makes. Conversely, Sault only made 1-of-14 from beyond the arc and also lost the rebounding war 42-33.

Only two Saints were able to reach double figures Tyler Storie (Windsor, Ont./WF Herman) scoring 15 points off the bench while Alex Temesy (Amherstburg, Ont./General Amherst) chipped in with 11 points.

Sault's Mark Lue-Hue led his with a game-high 24 points in the loss.

The St. Clair men's basketball team will wait to see their playoff opponent. Should they qualify in the fourth spot in the West Region they will host a playoff game Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. If they fall to fifth place they will be on the road Feb. 22. Their opponent in either scenario will be determined after the completion of the OCAA schedule on Wednesday.
