SHERIDAN 85, ST. CLAIR 61

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair men's basketball team dropped an 85-61 decision to the OCAA's top team in Sheridan Friday night at the campus gym.

After falling behind early in the first quarter, the Saints regained the lead heading in the second quarter before the game swung in Sheridan's favour. The Bruins took advantage and outscored St. Clair 39-9 in the decisive second quarter and were able to coast to the victory.

St. Clair actually outscored Sheridan in the third quarter and played even in the final frame but the deficit was too large to overcome. Sheridan's full court pressure forced the Saints into a 28 per cent shooting night and 34 turnovers.

Tyler Storie (Windsor, Ont./WF Herman) led St. Clair scoring a game-high 20 points and added six rebounds. Matt Nuna (Windsor, Ont./Catholic Central) scored 14 points to go with four assists. Xavier Jones (Tecumseh, Ont./L'Essor) scored 12 points while Isiah McConney (Leamington, Ont./Montcalm-London) chipped in with 10 points to go with eight rebounds.

Sheridan's Trevor Williams (Toronto, Ont.) led his team to victory with 18 points.

The St. Clair men's basketball team goes on the road next weekend to continue their OCAA West region regular season schedule with a two-game swing when they travel to Mohawk College (Hamilton) on Saturday and Niagara College (Welland) on Sunday.
