SHERIDAN 85, ST. CLAIR 69

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair men's basketball team were victims at home Sunday afternoon losing by a score of 85-69 to Sheridan College (Brampton, Ont.) at the SportsPlex.

The Saints were behind early but closed the first quarter down just a basket (21-19) before opening the second quarter with a run to lead 28-21. Sheridan responded to lead 40-35 at halftime as the teams played relatively even through the third quarter.

St. Clair could not answer the bell in the fourth quarter scoring just 11 points in the final frame.  Sheridan shot 54 per cent for the game and were able to earn a small advantage on second-chance points after winning the rebounding war.

Rookie guard Nicholas Campbell (Brampton, Ont.) scored 13 points to lead the Saints with Matt Nuna (Windsor, Ont./Catholic Central) scoring 12 points strictly on three-pointers. Trevelle Blythe (Windsor, Ont./WF Herman) chipped in with 11 points also reaching double figures.

Sheridan's Jamal Pryce (Mississauga, Ont.) scored a game-high 21 points to lead his team in the victory.
