ETOBICOKE, Ont. - It was not a good night for Mohawk's basketball teams as they both lost their Ontario Colleges Athletic Association regular season openers at Humber.

The Mountaineer men dropped a 97-77 verdict to the Hawks.

Matt Fennell led Mohawk with 23 points. Andrew Cicuttini scored 23 points and added 10 rebounds. Jeff Hunt had 16 points and six boards.

The Humber women won 82-77 despite a good night of scoring by the Abella sisters. Jen Jen had 24 points while Rachelle contributed 17. Stef Hrymak and Brittany Gazzola scored 10 points each.

Both Mohawk teams have their home opener Nov. 1, versus St. Clair.
