DURHAM 119, FLEMING 102

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - It was an offensive shootout in Peterborough, Ont., on Wednesday night with Durham College coming out with a 119-102 win over Fleming in OCAA men's basketball action.

Ajahmo Clarke (Ajax, Ont.) led the nationally-ranked Lords in scoring with 33 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, as the Lords improve to 10-2 and sit alone in first place in the OCAA east region.

Clarke moved up two spots on the Durham all-time scoring charts, as he leapfrogged Dudley Bent and Eric Carter who finished their careers with 759 points. Clarke now has 779 points in his two-year career with Durham, to sit in sixth place overall.

Clarke's teammate Eric Smith (Ajax, Ont.) also reached a milestone as he eclipsed 1,500 career points. With 18 scored against Fleming, Smith has 1,505 career points, which ranks him fifth all-time on the OCAA scoring charts (second in Durham history). J.P. Amaral of Georgian is currently fourth with 1,526 points.

The Lords have now won three straight conference games where they have averaged 99 points per game over that span. They will need to keep up that offensive pace on Tuesday night when they host the George Brown Huskies at 8 p.m. The Huskies recently defeated Durham 75-72 in the semifinals of the GBC New Year's Classic.

The Lords lead in the standings is only one game as Georgian defeated George Brown 76-65 to improve to 9-3. Although Durham earns an automatic bid into the provincial championship as the host, they will still want to finish as high as possible for seeding purposes.

Durham will play host to the 2015 OCAA men's basketball championship from March 6-8 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
