HAMILTON, Ont. - The men's and women's basketball teams at Mohawk completed weekend sweeps of Sault College at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre on Saturday.

The Mountaineer men defeated the Cougars 101-69. Matt Fennell had 27 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Cicuttini had a nice double-double with 12 points and 14 boards. Taylor Dowhaniuk scored 16 and added eight rebounds and Matt Savel had seven points plus 11 assists.

Mohawk improved to 10-2 and the Soo dropped to 1-10.

The Mohawk women beat Sault College 89-34.

Shanien O'Neill led the way with 16 points. Stef Hrymak scored 15, while Jen Jen Abella and Brittany Gazzola had 14 apiece for the Mountaineers who won their 11th game in a row after losing their opener. The Cougars have just one victory in 11 tries.
