ST. CLAIR MEN'S BASKETBALL OPENS TORONTO TOURNEY WITH LAST SECOND VICTORY

TORONTO - The St. Clair College men's basketball team earned a last second 65-63 victory over Georgian College (Barrie) at the George Brown tournament Saturday afternoon in Toronto.

After holding a 10-point lead heading into the fourth quarter the Saints allowed a late charge by Georgian to overtake them by a basket. Saints forward Patrick Donnelly (Oakville) calmly hit a pair of free throws with under 15 seconds remaining.

St. Clair then forced a turnover where point guard Charles Baskin (Detroit, Mich.) was fouled with 0.10 remaining on a three-point attempt. Baskin hit 2-of-3 at the line to seal the victory, leading the Saints in scoring with 16 points.

Rookie guard Trevon Mollison (Brampton) also reached double figures scoring 13 points for St. Clair.

The St. Clair men's basketball team advance to the semi-final game on Sunday against Mohawk College (Hamilton) with tip time at 1:30 p.m.
