MOHAWK CAGER HUNT IN SELECT COMPANY

HAMILTON, Ont. - Mohawk basketball star Jeff Hunt joined a very exclusive club Saturday. With 16 rebounds in the game against Sheridan, Hunt became just the third Mountaineer to officially record 500 points, 500 rebounds and 100 assists in his career.

Hunt currently sits at 567 points, 500 rebounds and 140 assists. He joins recent graduates Andrew Cicuttini, who had 1,083 points, 809 rebounds and 109 assists over four years, and Taylor Dowhaniuk, who scored 885 points with 743 rebounds, 268 blocks and 124 assists over his five years with the Mountaineers.

Hunt, a fifth-year forward who went to high school at Dundas Parkside, is the only holdover from Mohawk's 2011-12 national championship team.

"He was a constant as our sixth man the last four years and now, as a starter, he has turned into one of the leading rebounders in the country," noted Mohawk head coach Brian Jonker. "He is a leader by example and a true team-first player. It is great to see how his hard work has paid off.  Most importantly he is now the winningest player in school history as well, with 134 victories."
