MOHAWK WINS FINAL GAME OF MEN'S BASKETBALL SEASON

FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. - The Mohawk Mountaineers defeated the Camosun Chargers of Victoria 82-65 to finish in seventh place in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball National Championship in Fort McMurray, Alta., on Saturday.

Mohawk trailed 19-14 after the first quarter, but then started to take control of the game, leading 40-34 at halftime. They bumped their advantage to 20 points, 63-43 after the third quarter and although the Chargers started the final period with a 9-0 run, the Mountaineers looked quite comfortable, seeing out their 17-point triumph.

Mohawk Player of the Game, O.J. Watson, scored 16 points and got five turnovers. Patrick Iavarone and Kojo Afari each had 14 points and Kareem Collins and Lamar Barr collected 11 apiece. Jeff Hunt had 15 rebounds.

Quinn Yates led all scorers with 19 points for Camosun.
