JIMMY PARSONS NAMED ST. CLAIR MEN'S BASKETBALL COACH

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College Athletic Department is pleased to announce Jimmy Parsons as the head coach of the men's basketball program for the 2016-17 season. Parsons was elevated from the interim head coach level after serving in that role for the second half of the 2015-16 season.

After taking over the team in late December, Parsons was able to lead the Saints into the playoffs last season. St. Clair finished sixth with a 7-11 record in the OCAA's west region and concluded the season with a narrow 74-71 loss to the east region's third place team in the crossover playoff game at Algonquin College in Ottawa.

Parsons is a St. Clair alumnus in addition to being a four-year standout player and still ranks No. 5 on the Saints all-time scoring list. He was named an all-Canadian in the 1997-98 season and inducted into the OCAA Hall of Fame as a member of the all-millennium team.

Parsons then took over as the St. Clair women's basketball head coach in 2005 leading the Saints to six consecutive play-off appearances and a provincial silver medal in the 2009-10 season. As the women's coach he holds a career record of 48-32 in regular season play with recognition as the west region coach of the year (2005-06) and the St. Clair intercollegiate coach of the year in 2009-10 on his resume.
