MOHAWK 78, FANSHAWE 72

LONDON, Ont. - The Mohawk men's basketball team downed the winless Fanshawe Falcons in OCAA action in London, Ont., on Saturday. But they had their hands full in a 78-72 victory. The Mountaineers did not lead until three minutes to go.

Mohawk's head coach was certainly relieved. "It wasn't pretty," said Brian Jonker, "but we found a way to win in a place we haven't done so in five years."

Patrick Iavarone had 20 points and six rebounds for the Mountaineers. OJ Watson scored 18 points and added seven rebounds, Lamar Barr scored 13 and Jeff Hunt had eight points and 10 boards.

Jemaul Jones had a game-high 28 points for the Falcons and Connor Terrien had 12 points.

With the win, Mohawk improved it's record to 10-2, while Fanshawe dropped to 0-13.
