ST. LAWRENCE (K) 48, LOYALIST 0

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - After losing their home opener to Seneca College a week ago, the Vikings men's rugby team bounced back in dramatic fashion against the Loyalist College Lancers on Saturday, Sept. 20, with a 48-0 victory.

"The boys learned from their mistakes in the Seneca game, they played with more structure and commitment this week," said SLC head coach Herb Steacy.

First-year player Harry Gibbs was outstanding in his first varsity game as was Weldon Spears.

"We still have some work to do and a few areas to improve in if we are to secure a playoff position however the outlook is promising," Steacy added.

The Vikings will be looking for redemption next Sunday, Sept. 28 when they travel to North York, Ont., to face the 1-1 Seneca College Sting. Game time is 1 p.m.
