NIAGARA 3, DURHAM 2

OAKVILLE, Ont. - With the chance to play for a bronze medal still hanging in the balance, the West Division Niagara Knights battled back twice to defeated the Durham Lords in five sets (22-25, 30-28, 22-25, 25-16, 15-13).

Statistically, the Knights were better than the Lords across the board holding the advantage kills (66-53), aces (3-2), blocks (16-13), total offence (85-68) and digs (51-46).

Shayne Petrusma scored a match-high 26 points (22 kills, two aces, two blocks) and added 13 digs for a double-double.

Jeff Scott also had a double-double with 17 points (16 kills, one block) and 10 digs, while Sam Youlton chipped in with 21 points (16 kills, five blocks).

For Durham, Bradley VanHartingsveldt scored 25 points (19 kills, one ace, five blocks) while Craig Lush was also in double figures with 14 points (11 kills, one ace, two blocks).

Niagara will advance in the bronze bracket, meeting the loser of the semi final between Mohawk and Algonquin to determine who will play for bronze.
