HUMBER 3, FANSHAWE 0

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons hosted the Humber Hawks in OCAA men's volleyball action on Friday night. The Hawks won the match in three straight sets 25-20, 25-20, 25-23.

In the first set, Humber maintained a lead throughout, but Fanshawe wouldn't go away. After the Falcons once again were within one, the Hawks scored five straight points and took at 23-18 lead.  Humber went on to win the first set 25-20.

No team led by more than five in the second set. With Fanshawe up 8-7, the Hawks again scored five straight points to take the 12-8 lead. Teams traded points but Fanshawe couldn't get any closer than three and lost the set, again by a score of 25-20.

Fanshawe came out flying in the second set and took an early 11-7 lead. Humber crept back into the game and took their first lead at 16-15 in large part to Humber middle blocker Andre Brown. The game stayed close and with the scored tied at 23, a pair of unforced errors by Fanshawe gave Humber the win 25-23.

Fanshawe's Mathieu Poulin led the Falcons with 15 kills, one block and 11 digs. Humber's Andre Brown had a huge game with 19 points including eight stuff blocks.

The Falcons head on the road for their next match on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. versus the Conestoga Condors (0-1).
