ST. CLAIR 3, BOREAL 0

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair men's volleyball team had a great home opening weekend as they won their first two home games of the season.

On Saturday, the Saints hosted the Boreal Viperes from Sudbury. St. Clair played a solid match winning 3-0. Game scores for St. Clair were 25-18, 25-19, and 25-14. It was a solid team effort for the Saints as many players contributed. Fourth-year setter Josh Lynch (Windsor/Western Secondary) had a great match with two kills, six service aces, three stuff blocks, 25 assists and two digs. Keaton Rebkowec (Windsor/Holy Names) had a solid match as well with six kills on eight attacks. The Viperes fell to 0-3 on the season with the loss.

On Sunday, St. Clair hosted the Cambrian College Golden Shield at the St. Clair gym. The Saints managed to pull off a 3-1 match win. Game scores for St. Clair were 25-19, 25-22, 21-25 and 25-16. Jason Hernandez (Harrow/Harrow District) led the way offensively with 13 kills, one service ace, two stuff blocks and 10 digs. Travis Wigle (Kingsville/Kingsville District) also had a strong match with seven kills, one service ace, two stuff blocks and four digs. Cambrian's record slipped to 1-3 on the season with the loss.

With both wins, the Saints improved to 3-1 on the season and sit in a tie for second place in the OCAA West Division.

The Saints are next in action when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga College Condors on Sunday, Nov. 17.
