FANSHAWE 3, BOREAL 0

LONDON, Ont. - On Sunday afternoon, the Fanshawe Falcons (3-1) defeated the Boréal Vipères (0-4) in three straight sets 25-13, 25-11, 25-12. Fanshawe currently sits third in the OCAA West Division.

Fanshawe set the tone for the set when middle Mike Liscumb hit a middle attack off the head of the Boréal attack for the first point of the game. With the score 11-9, Fanshawe pulled away and won the set 25-13.

Boréal led briefly in the second set but a huge block by middle Jordan MacNeil sparked a 6-0 run by Fanshawe. The Falcons were in control for the remainder of the set, winning by a final score of 25-11.

The third set was led by Fanshawe from start to finish. The Falcons aggressive serving was too much for the Vipères to control. Mathieu Poulin finished the third set with five service aces alone and the Falcons won the final set 25-12.

Fanshawe's Poulin led all players with 18 points including 12 kills and six aces. Vincent Ouellett had eight kills for the Vipères.

Fanshawe's next match takes place in Hamilton, Ont., against the Mohawk Mountaineers (1-2) on Friday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. Mohawk has a balanced attack with Bryce Marcussen leading the team with 3.5 points per game.
