LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons completed a two-game sweep last weekend, defeating the Cambrian Golden Shield and the Boréal Vipères, both in straight set victories. Fanshawe now sits tied for second in the OCAA West Division standings.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, Fanshawe defeated the Cambrian Golden Shield in three straight sets 25-14, 25-16, 25-15. Fanshawe had a very balanced attack with eight different Falcons scoring.

On Sunday, Fanshawe again defended home court and defeated the Boréal Vipères 25-13, 25-11, 25-12. Left side Mathieu Poulin led all players with 18 points including 12 kills and six service aces.

The Falcons will now head on the road on Friday, Nov. 15 to face the Mohawk Mountaineers (1-3). Last season, the Mohawk Mountaineers were the sixth seed in the OCAA West Division but stepped up in the playoffs and went on to win the OCAA silver medal.

This season they are led by 7-foot-2 middle blocker Bryce Marcussen, who leads the Mountaineers with 3.8 points per game.
