DURHAM 3, LOYALIST 0

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - The Durham College men's volleyball team earned their seventh straight victory on Wednesday night as they swept the Loyalist Lancers by a score of 3-0.

Durham dominated the battle of two of the top teams in the OCAA East region as they won by set scores of 25-14, 25-21 and 25-20.

The Lords remain in the top spot of the regional standings with an 8-1 record, a half game ahead of the Algonquin Thunder who Durham defeated 3-0 earlier in the year. Durham's only loss came against the George Brown Huskies who sit in third place with a 7-2 record. Loyalist is in fourth place at 6-3.

Efficient is one-way to describe Durham's offence on Wednesday night as they converted 34 of 55 attacks for a .619 kill percentage. Petrus Kuypers (Haydon, Ont.) led the way for the green and gold as he was perfect on all nine of his kill attempts. The big-man up the middle could not be stopped by the Loyalist defence.

Setter Riley McAllister (Whitby, Ont.) had another big game for Durham as he recorded 27 assists and put down five kills of his own. Brad VanHartingsveldt (Newcastle, Ont.) had seven kills and Alex vanStaalduinen (Peterborough, Ont.) had six.

Libero Dan Popovich (Pickering, Ont.) had a team-high nine dig performance.

Leading the way for the home side was Jacob White and Adam Strickland who had eight kills apiece in the loss.

Durham will open up the new year at the Niagara Invitational which takes place from Jan. 3-4. Following the tournament, the Lords will resume conference action on Thursday, Jan. 9 with a rematch against the Lancers. First serve at the CRWC will be 8 p.m.
