NIAGARA 3, FANSHAWE 2

WELLAND, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons were on the road this past Friday to take on the No. 2 CCAA nationally-ranked Niagara Knights (8-0).

Fanshawe fell to the Knights in a five-set thriller (25-22, 26-24, 21-25, 20-25, 15-8).

Fanshawe currently sits in third place in the OCAA West Division standings. After being down two sets to none, the Falcons stormed back and tied the match at two.

Fanshawe fell behind early in the fifth and final set and eventually lost to the Knights 15-8.

Fanshawe's Mathieu Poulin led the way with 26 points including 20 kills, four services aces and two stuff blocks.

Fanshawe has one remaining game this semester which is on the road on Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. versus the St. Clair Saints (5-3). Fanshawe is currently tied with the Saints for third in the OCAA West Division.

The Saints are led by veteran Jason Hernandez, who leads the team with 4.3 points per set.
