MOHAWK 3, SHERIDAN 1

OAKVILLE, Ont. - Mohawk's volleyball teams came up with important victories over Sheridan in OCAA play Saturday (Jan. 11).

The Mountaineer men made it six wins in seven tries in a four-set victory over the Bruins in Oakville. After losing the first set, Mohawk rallied for a 20-25, 25-17, 25-9, 25-13 verdict.

Mark Kaveckas had three kills, eight stuff blocks and 26 assists to pace the Mountaineers. Trevor McLaughlin had 12 kills and three blocks and Bart Jedrzejewski came up with 15 digs.

Mohawk moved to 7-4 and Sheridan slipped to 3-8.

The Mountaineer women ended a four match slide as they swept the Bruins 25-17, 25-22, 25-20.

Kayley Duncan produced seven kills, three blocks and four digs. Corinne McGrath had two kills, 16 assists and seven digs. Sheridan was led by Sommer Maltby with 13 kills and 10 digs.

Mohawk improved to 4-7, while Sheridan fell to 1-10.
