GEORGE BROWN 3, CANADORE 0

NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Canadore Panthers men's varsity volleyball team fell to the George Brown Huskies today at the Education Centre Gymnasium in three straight sets.

Scores were 29-27, 25-15 and 25-13 in favour of George Brown.

Canadore's top scorer was Charlie Hancock with 14 points.

The Panthers came out strong to start the game, pushing all the way through the first set forcing the score to surpass the 25-point mark. Unfortunately, they dropped that set by a score of 29-27.

After such a big push, the Canadore men lost their momentum and were unable to come back in the second or third sets, as they fell to a strong, third place George Brown team.

Despite today's loss, the Panthers have still made it into the first round of the playoffs in the cross over games that will begin next weekend.

Canadore head coach Tim Ryan commented, "The team fought hard the first game, losing a close game 29-27. Our setter, Jordan Gardiner, injured his thumb and the team was not able to rally and come back from that loss."
