FANSHAWE 3, CAMBRIAN 0

SUDBURY, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons went on the road and won both their matches in straight sets this past weekend over the Boréal Vipères (0-10) and the Cambrian Golden Shield (2-8). Fanshawe currently sits in third place in the OCAA West Division standings.

On Saturday night, Fanshawe defeated the Boréal Vipères in straight sets (25-16, 25-10, 25-12). Fanshawe's Scott Brannigan led the Falcons with 10 points (five kills, three service aces, two blocks) in his first match of the year for the Falcons.

On Sunday afternoon, the Falcons had a similar result, winning in three straight sets (25-19, 25-23, 25-17) over the Cambrian Golden Shield. Mathieu Poulin led the Falcons offence with 13 points including five service aces. Mathieu now leads the entire OCAA in points per set (5.1) and total aces (21).

The Falcons head on the road to the USA this week for some exhibition games versus Medaille University, MIT, Emanual and Emerson College. The next home game for the Falcons take place on Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. versus the St. Clair Saints (5-5).
