ETOBICOKE, Ont. - The Fanshawe men's volleyball team went 2-1 last week, defeating both the Conestoga Condors and the CCAA No. 2-ranked Humber Hawks and then losing to the Mohawk Mountaineers.
Fanshawe is currently in a tie for second place in the OCAA West Division.
Last Tuesday, Fanshawe defeated the Condors in three straight sets (25-11, 25-18, 25-18). A balanced attack had 11 different Falcons on the score sheet.
The Falcons were on the road at Humber College last Thursday for a huge match against the CCAA No. 2-ranked Hawks. Fanshawe came out as the aggressor and took a two-set lead before the Hawks battled back to tie the match and force a fifth and deciding set. Fanshawe led from the start and never looked back, winning the fifth set 15-11.
On Saturday, Fanshawe fell behind early to the Mountaineers, losing the first two sets 25-23 and 25-20. The Falcons dominated Mohawk in the third set 25-13 but weren't able to make the comeback, dropping the fourth set 26-24.
The Fanshawe Falcons next play on the road at Redeemer College (9-6) on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m.
