OSHAWA, Ont. - Their record is perfect, but heading into the second half of the season the No. 6 ranked Durham College men's volleyball team knows there's a lot of work ahead of them.

After their 3-0 victory at home over George Brown on Tuesday night, head coach George Matsusaki identified a few areas they need to improve upon, noting serves as one in particular.

That said, the Lords have won all nine of their matches to start the OCAA season. In that time they've won 27 games, while only losing five.

Helping them win their final match of the year 3-0 was OCAA athlete of the week, Erik Janssen (Hampton, Ont.). He had nine kills and five digs in Durham College's victory.

Captain Jeremy Hoekstra (Cobourg, Ont.) had 11 kills, while Matthew Gibson (Oshawa, Ont.) had 34 assists and two kills in the match.

Stephen Duong led George Brown in kills with nine, while Leighton Peart picked up seven. Peart also led his team in blocks with four.

Durham College won the opening set 25-19, but had to battle late in the second set to win 25-23. The third and final set went to the Lords, 25-19.

The Lords next OCAA action is Jan. 8 at home against Trent, but they will play in Niagara College's tournament Jan 2-3.
