MOHAWK 3, ST. CLAIR 0

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Mohawk men's volleyball team improved to 4-0 in OCAA play as they swept St. Clair 25-20, 25-14, 25-9 at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre on Saturday. The Saints saw their record slip to 0-4.

Bryce Marcussen had 11 kills for the Mountaineers. Trevor McLaughlin produced 10 kills, two service aces and three stuff blocks. Eric Girard also had 10 kills.

Mike Knight led St. Clair with 9 kills.

In was a different story in the women's match as St. Clair beat Mohawk 3-0. The scores were 25-18, 26-24, 25-18.

Kaila Crough led the visitors with nine kills and one block. Helen Wiebe had six kills, two aces and one block to go with 14 digs.

Kinsley Child paced Mohawk with seven kills and two aces. Brittany Gingrich had four aces and added one block. Alessandra Assaf had 11 digs.

The result left both teams with 2-2 records.

HAMILTON, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's volleyball team travelled to Hamilton, Ont., on Saturday to take on the Mohawk College Mountaineers.

The rookie laden Saints squad struggled and lost to the Mountaineers by a score of 3-0. Game scores for Mohawk were 25-20, 25-14 and 25-19. Middle Justin Fisher had a solid game with three kills on three attempts, one service ace, three stuff blocks and one dig.

With the loss St. Clair fell to 0-4 on the season while Mohawk improved to 4-0. Mohawk is currently ranked second in the OCAA and sixth in Canada. The Saints are next in action when they host Cambrian College on Saturday at the Sportsplex at 3 p.m.
