MOHAWK 3, ST. CLAIR 0

WINDSOR, Ont. - A banged up St. Clair College men's volleyball team struggled on Friday night against the top ranked Mohawk Mountaineers losing by a score of 3-0. With several key players injured the Saints battled hard in the first set but ran out of gas in the next two sets.

Game scores for Mohawk were 25-21, 25-12, and 25-13. The Saints were led by Jared Niziolek with five kills, one service ace, one stuff block and three digs.

The St. Clair men fell to 3-11 on the season while Mohawk improved to 11-3. The Mountaineers are ranked third in Ontario and ninth in Canada.

The Saints are next in action when they host the Conestoga Condors on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. at the Sportsplex.

WINDSOR, Ont. - Chalk up another men's volleyball victory for Mohawk. The Mountaineers beat the St. Clair Saints 3-0 in Windsor, Ont., on Friday. The set scores were 25-21, 25-12, 25-13. Mohawk stretched its won-lost record to 11-3 while St. Clair dipped to 3-11.

Trevor McLaughlin had 11 kills and one stuff block. Eric Girard produced 10 kills and one block and Charlie Hancock had five kills and three blocks. Chris Dashford led the way on defence.

It was the fourth straight win for Mohawk and sets the table for what will be a big match Saturday as they visit the 12-2 OCAA west division front runners, Fanshawe. The Falcons are currently on a five-game win streak going into the match in London, Ont.
