ETOBICOKE, Ont.- Eric Girard had 13 kills, one service ace and two stuff blocks to lead Mohawk to a 25-22, 25-21, 25-15 verdict over Humber in OCAA men's volleyball in Etobicoke, Ont., on Wednesday.

Trevor McLaughlin produced eight kills for the Mountaineers. Paul Wagner had three kills, two aces and two blocks. Chris Spack had three kills, one ace and 23 assists and Chris Dashford, who collected five defensive digs, drew praise from head coach Matt Schnarr for his defensive work. Andrew Dube also had five digs to go with one kill and two aces.

Humber got nine kills, an ace and a block from Clayton Blanchette. Jordan Darlington contributed six kills and two blocks.

The net result of this match sees Mohawk with a 12-5 record, tied in third place with Sheridan. The Mountaineers finish the regular season at home to Redeemer on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Royals are right behind at 11-6 as the teams jockey for playoff positions.

As for Humber, they are now 9-7 and in sixth place.
