HAMILTON, Ont. - Home court was a good place to be for Mohawk's volleyball teams as they both ended losing streaks on Saturday.

The Mountaineer women ended a seven match slide with a 25-17, 25-19, 24-26, 25-17 verdict over the Conestoga Condors.

Alexandria Pulham had nine kills and one stuff block to lead the Mohawk attack. Kirsten Bialachowski had eight kills, two service aces and two blocks. Brittany Gingrich contributed seven kills, one ace and one block. Yvonne Mann had 32 assists on the night, while Alessandra Assaf came up with 15 defensive digs.

For Conestoga, Madisson McKeller had 10 kills and two aces, Elizabeth Galbraith also had 10 kills, Shelby Wagner produced 28 assists and Sara Driedger had 13 assists and 15 digs.

The Mountaineers improved their record to 3-8, with two of their wins against the Condors, who dropped to 1-10.

The Mohawk men's volleyball team swept Conestoga 25-15, 25-15, 25-13, to snap a three match losing string.

Eric Girard paced the Mountaineers spirited attack with 10 kills, two aces and two blocks. Max Anderson had eight kills, four aces and one block, Charlie Hancock managed five kills and one ace and Cody Charlton produced four kills and four blocks. Chris Spack was the setup man with 30 assists.

Wesley Lau led the Condors with eight kills, one ace and one block. Kyle Chaffe had six kills and one block, and Kelly McGuire had 21 assists.

Mohawk improved to 8-3, while Conestoga fell to 3-8.
