MOHAWK 3, FANSHAWE 1

LONDON, Ont. - Saturday was a good day on the volleyball court in London, Ont., for Mohawk's volleyball sides.

Both teams scored 3-1 victories over the Fanshawe Falcons.

The women's team won 25-22, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23. Yvonne Mann had nine kills, five aces, one block, 14 assists and 13 digs for the Mountaineers. Kirsten Bialachowski had seven kills and five blocks; Amanda Kuiper had 14 assists and Alessandra Assaf came up with 22 digs.

Hunter Medd had 12 kills and 20 digs for Fanshawe.

The Mountaineers improved to 2-2, while the Falcons fell to 2-3.

Meanwhile, in a battle of the unbeaten, the Mohawk men downed Fanshawe 25-22, 25-27, 25-18, 25-20. The Mountaineers improved to 4-0 while the Falcons dropped to 4-1.

Nathan Delguidice led everybody with his 18 kills. Eric Girard had 16 kills, one block and seven digs and Trevor McLaughlin contributed 11 kills, three aces and one block. Chris Spack had 51 assists.

James Jackson had 16 kills for Fanshawe and Jack Daley put up 17 assists.
