PATRICK JOHNSTON REACHES 100 OCAA LEAGUE WINS

OAKVILLE, Ont. - On Thursday evening, the Fanshawe Falcons men's volleyball (5-5) team defeated Sheridan (3-7) in Oakville. The victory marked head coach Patrick Johnston's 100th OCAA league win and improves his career league record to an impressive 100-18 (.847 win percentage).

Johnston is currently in his seventh year as the Falcons head coach. Since 2013-14, the Fanshawe volleyball squad have been a dominant force in the OCAA. They have captured five OCAA medals, including three championships in 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2018-19. Johnston has also led Fanshawe to three CCAA national medals, including the 2018-19 CCAA national championship, the first in the college's history.

Johnston has been named the OCAA West Coach of the Year three times (2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16), OCAA Coach of the Year twice (2013-14 and 2015-16) and was the CCAA Coach of the Year in 2015-16. He also has an impressive 26-7 playoff record and was the first Fanshawe coach to ever receive the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association's (CCAA) Coaching Excellence Award (2018-19).

Johnston's coaching record including OCAA and CCAA playoffs is currently 126-25 (.834 win percentage). He reached 100 career wins back on November 7, 2018, when the Falcons defeated Redeemer 3-0.
