ALGONQUIN 66, DURHAM 46 (FINAL)

OTTAWA – Playing on the road against the No. 1 ranked Algonquin Thunder, the Durham College women's basketball team were unable to pull off an upset as they were defeated by a final score of 66-46.

Durham hung in with the 2011 CCAA silver medalists for the majority of the game, but the Thunder pulled away in the final quarter to go on and earn their conference leading ninth win of the season.

Erin Emery of North Bay had a double-double in the loss as she scored 16 points and added 11 rebounds. Emery has 970 career points and is closing in on 1,000 point mark. Only two players in the history of the OCAA have reached the milestone.

Kelsey Hare (Whitby, Ont.) also had a strong performance for Durham as she scored 16 points. She has scored at least 12 points in every game this season.

Durham (4-7) will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday night when they host the Centennial Colts (3-8). Game time at the CRWC will be 6 p.m.

Durham beat Centennial 61-59 in their season opener.
